Summit
Design Services, LLC was started in 2009 by Chuck Brodeur as a response
to
the growing number of companies looking to outsource some or all of
their design work. Many smaller companies simply don't have
the
consistent workload to employ large engineering staffs.Summit Design
Services supports small to large
companies to fill their development and test needs in the embedded
product space.
SDS
is operated in Rhode Island, though it also works with a network of
independent designers in other regions (predominantly Massachusetts.)
Our
close
proximity to Boston insures that we have access to local sales and
support staff from nearly every major electronic component manufacturer
and
distributor. This allows us to leverage the knowledge of the
suppliers, as well as have face to face meetings to negotiate the best
terms for our customers.
We
also have relationships with an extensive number of manufactures of
circuit boards, systems, sheet metal, cables, packaging, etc.
We've worked with manufacturers throughout North America.
If going overseas makes sense for your product, we can help
you
with that as well.
The bottom line is that SDS is
committed to providing our customers with the very best service,
regardless of the size of the company or scope of the project.

Chuck
has over 25 years of experience
as an embedded developer and manager. He has worked in a
variety
of companies from small networking startups to large government
contractors. His
experience includes hardware design, FPGA design, functional test
development, and embedded software design. Chuck has also
held
management positions as engineering team leader and operations manager.
He has successfully brought several
products to market, and has a consistent record of meeting schedule and
cost goals.
At SDS, Chuck is the primary
customer contact and oversees all on-going projects.
In
addition to designing cool stuff, Chuck also enjoys hiking, playing
music, and car restoration. The picture above was taken on
the
summit
of Mt. Kilimanjaro in January 2007. The one at the top of the
page was taken along the rim on the same morning.
